Left in a basket outside an English orphanage as a cub by his mother, Helix has been on his own for all his life. After being rejected from the human orphanage, Helix wandered the streets of Europe. After years of living off garbage and food on the street, Helix was caught by a pair of dog catchers. The dog catchers forced Helix to grow up in a small cage, and eat cheap, grade D+ dog food. By making the cage too small for the quickly growing Helix, the dog catchers were conspiring to turn him into a cube-shaped lion and sell him to the circus. Before that ever happened, however, Helix was rescued by a lioness, Willow. After taking a train and moving into the African grasslands with Willow, Helix soon became attached, and dubbed Willow as "Mother". Everything seemed so perfect for the first couple months, until Willow abandoned him. Legal custody was thus granted to the lioness Reepacheep. Helix now lives committed to one day getting revenge on the two dog catchers, and finding his true love.
